1. The tap quality is not good

Including the main materials, CNC tool design, heat treatment, processing accuracy, coating quality, etc.

2. Improper tap selection

High-quality taps should be used for attacking parts with too high hardness, such as cobalt-containing high-speed steel taps, carbide taps, and coated taps. In addition, different tap designs are used in different working situations, such as the number, size, angle, etc. of the chip flute head of the tap, which have an impact on the chip removal performance.

3. Excessive wear of taps

Excessive wear of the tap is a very common situation. After the tap is processed with several threaded holes, the cutting resistance becomes larger due to the excessive wear of the tap, which causes the tap to be broken.

10. Cutting speed and feed rate are unreasonable

When the cutting speed and feed rate are reduced, the propulsion force of the tap will be reduced, and the accuracy of the thread produced by it will be greatly reduced. This will increase the roughness of the thread surface, and the thread hole diameter and thread accuracy are beyond control, burrs, etc Of course it is more inevitable. However, if the feed speed is too fast, the resulting torque is too large and the tap may easily break.
